He said the number of people who have registered their interest in receiving the vaccine is now more than a million.

“As of 7 am today (February 27), around 1,183,779 registrations for the Covid-19 vaccine have been received through the MySejahtera app.

Meanwhile, Khairy, who is also the coordinating minister of the National Covid-19 Immunization program, said that the different CoronaVac efficacy rates, which ranged from 50.4% to 91.2%, are also dependent on trials. that are being carried out.

“It depends on the study that is being carried out. In Turkey, it was 91% effective, but it was around 50% in Brazil because the profile of the study volunteers was different.

“In Brazil, the vaccine was being administered to high-risk groups, specifically the first-line, so the clinical data slightly exceeded 50%. The way the efficacy data were reported was also more complex.

“Still, I want to emphasize that according to the World Health Organization, the minimum level of efficacy is 50%,” he said.

He also said that CoronaVac has been used in China, Indonesia, Turkey, Chile, Hong Kong, Brazil and Cambodia, and that Indonesian President Joko Widodo has also been injected with that vaccine.
