Police arrested for allegedly abusing two female volunteers at the police station in Muar

JOHOR BARU: A police sergeant has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing two women on the staff of the Police Volunteer Reserve.

Johor Police Chief Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the incident occurred between Wednesday and last Friday (May 6-8) at a police station in Muar.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or criminal force against a woman with the intention of outraging her modesty.

“We will investigate the case thoroughly, and if we find anything we can charge him with, we will take him to court.

“I will never compromise with anyone who violates the law, including my own staff. They will be arrested, ”he said during a press conference at the Johor police headquarters here on Monday (May 11).

He added that the incident occurred while the victims were on duty and the police are seeking a return order against sergeant.

“We will not take lightly any crime that involves taking advantage of female officers or personnel,” she said, adding that the investigative team has also taken witness statements.
