PETALING JAYA: The founder of Sugarbook, the largest sugar daddy-sugar baby dating service in Asia, will be indicted in magistrates court tomorrow morning.
The head of Selangor’s Criminal Investigations Department, Fadzil Ahmat, said the 34-year-old will be charged under Section 505 (b) of the Penal Code for publishing any statement with the intention of causing, or likely to cause, fear or alarm. to the public.

The charge against the founder follows a seven-day pretrial detention that began last Thursday.
The suspect, from Minden in Gelugor, Penang, was arrested last Wednesday at a condominium in Kuala Lumpur to assist in an investigation into rape and prostitution.
He was also investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act of 1998.
Police are known to have launched investigations into the dating website after more than 70 complaints were filed.
Sugarbook had recently revealed that it had seen a 40% increase in students registering as “sugar babies” since January, with 12,705 students from 10 higher education institutions in the Klang Valley using the platform.
