KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) reminds the public not to worry about mobile phones while waiting in line to buy essential items or when doing other activities, while practicing social distancing.
MCPF Vice President Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said the majority of the robbery cases occurred because the victims were concerned about their mobile phone conversations and did not know what was happening around them.
“Criminals always take advantage of our negligence and carelessness. Being alert and staying alert will always keep us safe. Do not assume that crime will not happen during the term of this Movement Control Order (MCO), ”he said yesterday in a statement.
He added that MCPF will also focus on educating the public about scammers who take advantage of new technologies to take advantage of victims.
Lee said that MCPF members at all levels in Malaysia will be fully mobilized to help transmit and disseminate information on crime prevention advice to the community.
