PUTRAJAYA: The National Security Council agreed to allow six categories of students to return to campus for classes beginning March 1.
The Higher Education Ministry said in a statement that the students allowed to return are those who need to access practical classes as well as use laboratories, studios and special devices for their studies.
Students who do not have access to the Internet or who lack an environment conducive to online learning may also return to campus.
Others include those enrolled in pre-university and postgraduate courses who have stayed on campus, international students, except UK students, disabled students, and those taking the Malaysian university English exam, as well as international and professional exams.
Students not in these categories will continue their lessons online, the ministry said.
Peninsula students returning to the Sabah and Sarawak campuses must take swab tests at no charge. Those going to Sarawak must first undergo a two-week quarantine.
Sarawak and Sabah students returning to mainland campuses will also be placed in quarantine centers.
