JOHOR BARU: Police arrested a 36-year-old man who is believed to have thrown gasoline bombs and red paint at several houses here.

Seri Alam OCPD Acting Deputy Superintendent Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the suspect was arrested around 7 a.m. on Saturday (January 16), in front of a store in Taman Ria Plentong.

“The suspect is believed to have thrown gasoline bombs and red paint at a house in Taman Molek around 9 am on Thursday (January 14). He then did the same at another house in Taman Bukit Tiram around 11:15 am. the same day.

“We also seized several items from the suspect to aid in the investigations. This included his clothing and helmet, which have red paint on them, a marker believed to have been used to write threatening notes, and a lighter believed to have been used to illuminate the bomb. of gasoline, “it said in a statement Saturday.

He added that the suspect, who tested positive for methamphetamine, also has a criminal record related to drugs, crime and cheating.

“The suspect was previously wanted for a case under Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1952 in Johor Baru South and Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating in Inanam, Sabah.

“He also has four other criminal records related to drugs and crimes.”

He said the suspect would be sent to pretrial detention to assist in investigations and identify other cases in which he may have been involved.

“The police are also identifying an Ah Long syndicate that is believed to have paid the suspect RM 300 each time he harassed the victims,” ​​he said.
