GUA MUSANG: The Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) will ensure that there are no panic purchases and sufficient supply of essential items for the preparation of Aidilfitri.

His undersecretary-general (Consumer Empowerment) Mohamed Zahari Razali said that consumers across the country should not be easily swayed by various rumors of inadequate supply and rising prices of goods.

He said this was unlikely due to ongoing monitoring by the ministry and that all essential items sold in supermarkets and shops in the town were sufficient and at a stable price.

People in rural areas shouldn’t spend too much time in city supermarkets to buy essential items for Aidilfitri preparations, thinking the products are supposedly cheaper, he said.

“The prices of essential products, such as wheat flour, eggs and cooking oil, are the same, both in supermarkets and in various stores in the countryside,” he told reporters after reviewing the essential items sold. at a store in Kampung Jerek, here, yesterday.

Mohamed Zahari said the enforcement unit will continue to monitor all supermarkets and various stores in rural areas to ensure they comply with all regulations established by the ministry.

“So far we are satisfied with the surplus of essentials available at all commercial facilities and there should be no problem making preparations for Aidilfitri,” he said. – Bernama
