The second incident occurred at Mutiara Damansara when a food delivery passenger hit a pothole at Jalan PJU 7/2 this afternoon, causing him to lose control of his bicycle before crashing to the side of the road.

The 31-year-old Grab Food rider died instantly at the scene.

According to Petaling Jaya District Police Chief Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal, the incident occurred around 1.15pm when the victim, who came from Kampung Chempaka in Petaling Jaya, was approaching a T-junction before accidentally hitting the pothole. .

“The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical assistant. An autopsy will be performed at the Universiti Malaya Medical Center after the Covid-19 test result is obtained.

“The investigation is being conducted under Section 41 (1) of the Highway Transportation Act of 1987,” Nik Ezanee said in a statement.

Previously, a video clip that showed the victim lying on the road shortly after the accident had gone viral on social media.

The video is believed to have been taken by another cyclist, who urged authorities to take note of the condition of the road in the area, which is located near the upscale The Curve shopping complex.

“Similar accidents have happened many times at this location before, but they did not cause any deaths.

“But now, someone has died here. We hope related parties take note.
