Nanny, two sons arrested for the death of a five-year-old boy

KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested a nanny and her two children on suspicion of abusing and causing the death of a five-year-old boy in a condo in Jalan Ipoh, here yesterday.

Sentul District Police Chief, ACP, Beh Eng Lai, said police received a report about the incident at 2:45 p.m. before a team of police officers was dispatched to the scene.

“They found the child victim lying on the bed fully clothed and the paramedics who also went to the scene confirmed that the victim had died at the scene,” he said today in a statement.

He said some scratches and bruises were also found on the victim’s body and legs.

Beh said the nanny and her two children, all between 22 and 61 years old, were detained the same day to help with the investigation.

The victim’s body was sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for an autopsy scheduled for tomorrow.

“The three suspects will be placed in preventive detention today and the case is being investigated under Section 31 (1) of the 2001 Juvenile Law.
