MACC Urged to Investigate Alleged Corruption at Selangor District Police Headquarters

PUTRAJAYA (Bernama): The Malaysian People’s Welfare Organization (Mapro) has asked the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate alleged corrupt activities at a district police headquarters in Selangor.

Its president, T. Sivanesan, said that there were senior officers and members of the district police headquarters with extraordinary wealth, including luxury cars and houses, because they were believed to be involved in corruption and abuse of power.

“Therefore, I came to MACC today to ask them to conduct an investigation after presenting some evidence and documents for further action,” he said while meeting with reporters after filing a complaint at MACC headquarters here on Thursday (31 de December).

He said Mapro also met with the deputy director of Bukit Aman’s Department of Integrity and Compliance (JIPS), Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid, to brief him on the matter.

“He (Allaudeen) himself has come down to the ground and I hope that the investigation of this case will be carried out transparently by Bukit Aman JIPS and MACC,” he said.

Meanwhile, a MACC spokesperson when contacted confirmed that his department had received the complaint.- Bernama
