31 undocumented immigrants captured in Ops Benteng on Wednesday (Dec 30), says Ismail Sabri

PETALING JAYA: Thirty-one undocumented immigrants were arrested on Wednesday (December 30) by authorities under the current Ops Benteng.

“A total of 107 roadblocks were also carried out at the same time,” Chief Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said. (Photo) at their daily Covid-19 briefing on Thursday (December 31).

On compliance statistics, he said police detained 301 people on Wednesday, of whom three were detained.

About 149 people did not abide by social distancing rules, while 77 were found not to wear face masks.

Twelve construction sites were also inspected and all adhered to established standard operating procedure (SOP), he said.

“Today is the last day of 2020, a year that has affected us all. Tomorrow we will enter 2021, which will surely be more challenging and we must be resilient to face it.

“Pray that 2021 will bring a new beginning for all of us, especially in dealing with this pandemic,” he said.
