NEW DELHI / BEIJING / KATHMANDU: Nepal has called on India to “refrain from carrying out any activity within its territory” after expressing regret at New Delhi’s inauguration of a link road in the disputed territory in a strategic three-way junction with Tibet, China.

Nepal’s declaration comes a day after Indian Interior Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated an 80 km link road to the Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra route through the Lipu Lekh pass, a disputed territory currently under control. of the Indian border security forces.

Kailash-Mansarovar is an important Hindu religious site in Tibet.
