Parliamentarian Maria Chin provides food baskets to those affected by PJ Old Town EMCO

PETALIZING JAYA: Affected residents in Petaling Jaya old town under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) have been urged to remain calm and comply with authorities.

“Cooperation with authorities is important to prevent further spread of Covid-19 in the area that has now reached 26 cases,” Petaling Jaya deputy Maria Chin Abdullah said in a statement today.

Despite the closure of several areas within the old town of Petaling Jaya, he said that food baskets from his office will be delivered to the doors of people in the area.

“With the announcement that Sections 2-4 Petaling Jaya have now been placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO), I will supply food baskets to the area,” said Maria.

Together with the Department of Welfare (JKM) and Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), Maria said they had prepared 1,200 food baskets to distribute today to all affected residents, including migrants and refugees.
