“If Liverpool can maintain their momentum, I don’t see anyone catching them, but it could come out either way.”

Meanwhile, former United defender Phil Neville added that United have the strength in depth to sustain a title challenge. Liverpool have been affected by a number of injuries this season, but United have not suffered such misfortune.

“The team, if you look at the bench, it shows they have the depth to sustain a title challenge with the number of games they have,” he said.
