KUALA LUMPUR: The integrity of the Department of Road Transportation (JPJ) staff is and will always be a priority, says JPJ’s newly appointed CEO Datuk Zailani Hashim.
“I look forward to raising the positive image of the department to a higher level and enhancing integrity among our staff.
“We will do so without relinquishing collaboration with other departments and enforcement agencies,” he said in a statement after paying a courtesy visit to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Datuk Seri Azam Baki on Monday (29 from December).
Zailani said JPJ would also practice an open door policy and welcomes any recommendations from the public.
“This is to improve the department’s effectiveness in providing services to people,” he added.
Meanwhile, Azam said the MACC appreciated JPJ’s commitment to integrity.
“We will cooperate closely by placing a Certified Integrity Officer (CeIO) in JPJ’s integrity division.
“Strategic cooperation between the two departments was established long ago through joint ventures like Ops Clone Cars and driving test scams,” he said.
Both parties also agreed to review their cooperation note, which was established in 2017 to improve and strengthen relations between the two departments.
