PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin discussed measures to fight Covid-19 with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in a phone call made by the latter.

Muhyiddin said he received the call last night during which Trump also congratulated him on the new Perikatan Nasional government.

During their 30-minute conversation, they discussed the approach taken by both countries, he said.

“We also emphasize the importance of working with the global community to reduce the impact of the pandemic on the global economy.

“These efforts include improving cooperation in vaccine and drug development, as well as equal access to a vaccine later,” Muhyiddin said in a Facebook post.

He said that both expressed their commitment to further strengthen comprehensive cooperation between their countries.

Muhyiddin said the two countries also reached an agreement to ensure a smooth supply of critical equipment and other supplies during the global health crisis.
