Leave our seats alone or we will fight with you, Selangor Umno warns PPBM

Selangor Umno’s boss, Noh Omar, says he has relayed this message to his party leadership.

PETALING JAYA: The fight for seats between the Perikatan Nasional coalition partners is increasing in Selangor, a state that could see PPBM and Umno fighting each other for multiple seats in GE15.

Selangor Umno fired the first salvo by warning the PPBM to stay away from all electoral districts that its candidates had won in the last elections.

Their boss, Noh Omar, said Umno would “have no choice” but to compete against the PPBM if they “remain stubborn” and nominate candidates in areas the party previously won.

“I am asking PPBM to check with the district polling stations about the areas in which they won last time, please take a good look,” he told Sinar Harian.

Meanwhile, the Tanjung Karang deputy said that he had conveyed his wishes to avoid clashes between seats within Muafakat Nasional to Umno President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and PAS state leader Ahmad Yunus Hairi.

“I have also told them that if PPBM tries to disrupt our areas, Umno will have no choice but to fight the party,” he added.

In Selangor, the most contested seat is likely to be Sabak Bernam, which was won by Fauziah Fakeh of Umno in the last GE before switching sides to join PPBM.

Noh Omar added once again that Umno would continue to strengthen its alliance with PAS through Muafakat Nasional.

“We in Selangor firmly adhere to the principle of working together with PAS, our position is clear to ensure that there are no clashes with the party.”
