KOTA BHARU: The alert status of members of the ‘Strike Force’ of the 7th Battalion of the General Operations Force (GOF7) led to the seizure of undeclared frozen chicken worth RM 98,400 from a truck after the vehicle left the ICQS Rantau Panjang Complex yesterday.

Its commander, Superintendent Azhari Nusi, said its members followed the suspicious white Hino truck after it left the compound to Bonggol Kulim, where they then ordered the truck driver to stop the vehicle.

“The GOF7 members asked the truck driver for documents about the shipment he was carrying and, after a check, they discovered that there were boxes containing frozen chicken.

“However, after examining the documents, the number of boxes in the truck was greater than the declared amount, after which the 24-year-old truck driver and the truck were detained,” he said in a statement today.

He said the case had been turned over to the Malaysian Department of Inspection and Quarantine Services (MAQIS) for further action.Called
