KUALA LUMPUR: Police halted a Macau scam and online gambling union after 11 people, including four Chinese nationals, were arrested in three raids in the capital yesterday.

Dang Wangi District Police Chief, ACP, Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, said that in the first raid around 3:30 p.m., three Chinese men between the ages of 28 and 34 were arrested at a condominium in Jalan Doraisamy, near Jalan Sultan. Ismail.

“Investigations found that the union was carrying out an investment fraud, namely the Macau scam, and they were all detained for four days until December 25 for further investigation,” it said in a statement today.

According to Zainal, the next two raids were carried out by a team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters in Jalan Conlay, near here.

He said that in the first of two raids on a residence around 5.30pm, police arrested a 35-year-old Chinese national suspected of being involved in online gambling, who is currently in pre-trial detention until 25 May. December.

“Half an hour later, they broke into another room and detained seven people, including two foreign women from Thailand and Vietnam between 21 and 33 years old.
