Cyberpunk 2077 May Land CD Projekt in legal trouble

CD Projekt has had a very rough week, to say the least, after the release of Cyberpunk 2077. It’s still not in top shape, especially on next-gen consoles. Even the refund process that followed was complicated. However, the slump doesn’t stop there, as it now appears that there are reports of impending lawsuits for the company.

The New York Times mentions that lawyers and investors are contemplating a class action lawsuit over the Cyberpunk 2077 situation. As a Polish lawyer points out, CD Projekt may be guilty of “misrepresentation for financial gain.” Another New York-based firm is also investigating CD Projekt for the same case, according to PC Gamer.

It is certainly an unpleasant situation for CD Projekt at the moment. Cyberpunk 2077 was not only first announced nearly a decade ago, it was also delayed three times in its release year. Now that it’s finally out, the game is a roll of the dice for gamers, even those with a powerful PC or current-gen console, as to whether they’ll encounter minor or game-breaking bugs.

Things are certainly not going to calm down for CD Projekt and Cyberpunk 2077 any time soon. Both are likely to be in the news until February, after the company releases the second major patch for the game.
