KUALA LUMPUR: The households of B40, Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM), candidates will soon be able to enjoy attractive Internet packages from five telecommunications companies (telcos).

In a statement today, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) said that the initiative of Celcom, Digi, Maxis, U Mobile and Telekom Malaysia (TM) in the first quarter of next year involves special data packages for candidates. from SPM and STPM until the exams end in April.

“Under these Special Data Packages, the five telcos will offer prepaid data passes at RM20 for 15GB for 30-day periods beginning on January 6, 2021,” he said.

As for the Learning From Home (LFH) facility provided by YTL, MCMC said it has been extended until both exams are finished.

“In addition to this, Celcom, Digi, Maxis, TM and YTL will continue their free online classes, namely Celcom for their program Tuisyen Rakyat, DIGI (Jom Tuisyen), Maxis (e-Kelas), TM (I-Learn Ace ) while YTL for its initiative LFH, that is to say, free SIM card with 40 GB of data, content and free phone for students from B40 families ”, said the commission.

Students from B40 families (lowest income group) can also apply for free cell phones.
