SHAH ALAM: Police are looking for a woman, known only as ‘Tijal’ or ‘Maria’ to assist in investigations of a case of injury to a Cambodian teenager since 2018.

North Klang District Police Chief ACP Nurulhuda Mohd Salleh said the 40-year-old woman’s last address was Flat Taman Kapar Setia, Kapar.

He said the 16-year-old victim filed a report on the woman’s actions on December 7 with the help of a local man in his 50s who had seen the video of the teenager injured by ‘Tijal’ on WhatsApp.

“Based on the police report, the victim claimed that the woman hit her head with a stick, cut her ear half with scissors and poured hot water on her left arm.

“As a result of the act, the victim suffered pain and bruising on his head, face and left hand,” Nurulhuda said in a statement here today.

Nurulhuda said initial investigations found the woman was believed to be the teenager’s aunt and that the motive for the incident is still under investigation.

Police were also investigating the true purpose of the victim’s visit to Malaysia, as he had a valid passport, he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code.
