Ronnie Liu warned that a political restart would not be possible unless there were changes in the overall political landscape of the country.

PETALING JAYA: DAP leader Ronnie Liu has urged Pakatan Harapan to remain united amid calls for a political reboot.

Assemblyman Sungai Pelek said the coalition must work together and abandon its attitude of “holier than you” to save the country.

In a statement, he reminded everyone that PH had only been able to take over the government thanks to the reform movement of opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.

“The injustice committed against Anwar was the main reason people joined PH,” he said.

Liu said Anwar was willing to cooperate with others such as former Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and his successor, Muhyiddin Yassin in the interests of the rakyat.

“Let’s not allow ‘Tok Dalang’ to put a gap between all partners while attracting more to join us if they want to work together.

“You can only accept authenticity based on face value, and in the process, we know who played us during the Sheraton Move.”

Liu warned that a political restart would not be possible unless there were changes in the overall political landscape of the country, which would require cooperation from the government.

“In my opinion, a political reboot can only help save the nation if it is also implemented by the parties calling themselves Perikatan Nasional (PN), Muafakat Nasional and Barisan Nasional.

“This pressure will have to come from the general population, and their votes will ultimately set the tune that the political leaders of this country will have to dance to.”

Yesterday, DAP Secretary General Lim Guan Eng and Amanah President Mohamad Sabu asked PH to acknowledge that the opposition needed a restart, after it failed to halt approval of the federal budget.

The two had claimed that the PN deputies were “opportunists” and only used PH for their own benefit.
