Although the Malaysian 5G launch has been postponed for at least two more years, Realme has introduced a new variant of Realme 7 with 5G. While the exterior looks the same as the 4G version, the Realme 7 5G comes with a higher 120Hz screen refresh rate and slightly different camera settings.
Pricing and availability
The Realme 7 5G has an official price of 1,299 RM in Malaysia and comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Interestingly, that’s the same price as the Realme 7 4G variant. The first sale takes place in the December 18, 2020 only in Lazada Malaysia. As an early bird promotion, they are giving away a Realme Hipster bag with the Realmeow badge for free. On top of that, you will also get 1 additional year free warranty.
If you prefer to buy it in-store, the Realme 7 5G will be available from all authorized dealers in Malaysia from December 25, 2020. Buyers will also receive a free Realme Hipster bag with the Realmeow badge.
The device comes in two color options: Mist Blue and Flash Silver. The Silver Flash variant has a large “Realme” branding on the back, while the Mist Blue option has a two-tone look with a smaller logo.
Hardware specs
The Realme 7 5G features a 6.5 ″ Full HD + display that drives a high refresh rate of 120Hz. Under the hood, it runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor that is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
The device also has a quad-camera setup consisting of a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, and two 2MP cameras for black and white portrait and macro. For selfies, the small punch hole houses a 16MP front camera.
Powering the 5G device is a 5,000mAh large battery that supports 30W dart charging via USB-C. The device still comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and, out of the box, runs on Android 10.
