KUALA LUMPUR, December 17 – A new Covid-19 virus outbreak has broken out at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) in Klang, Selangor, Malaysiakini reported today.

According to the news portal, at least 40 employees and 50 patients have been infected after being protected in the last three weeks.

He cited unidentified sources who said those infected had been transferred to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.

Selangor Health Director Dr. Sha’ari Ngadiman confirmed that Health Ministry officials were at HTAR to verify the situation this morning.

“I note that there have been cases [involving staff and patients infected with Covid-19] there.

“That is why ministry officials were at the hospital to learn more about the subject. As such, I cannot comment further, ”he said. Malaysiakini.

According to the news portal, the infected patients were hospitalized at HTAR for ailments unrelated to Covid and tested negative during admission, but later showed symptoms of infection.

The source of the infection has not been determined.

HTAR was first reported to have seen an outbreak in March and introduced limits for visitors back then, which have since been adopted by all public hospitals across the country to prevent further Covid-19 infections.
