Batu MP P Prabakaran voted when he was supposed to be under a house surveillance order last Thursday.

KUALA LUMPUR: Several government MPs have called for P Prabakaran (PH-Batu) to be referred to the Parliament’s Rights and Privileges Committee for allegedly violating a quarantine order by attending Dewan Rakyat’s session last Thursday.

Shahidan Kassim (BN-Arau) said that Prabakaran’s presence violated the surveillance order of his house and endangered the other MPs in the house.

His call to refer Prabakaran to the committee was supported by other MPs, including Noh Omar (BN-Tanjung Karang).

Azhar spokesman Azizan Harun said he would study the matter before making a decision.

“I didn’t realize what happened. After reviewing our voting list, Yang Berhormat (Prabakaran) voted.

“As I said before, the power to punish or aggravate anyone who violates the Covid-19 orders of the National Security Council or the Ministry of Health is not under my authority,” he said.
