Xiaomi Malaysia has officially unveiled the Mi Watch Lite and this is their most affordable smartwatch that comes with built-in GPS, heart rate and sleep monitoring and is rated to last over a week on a single charge. For one day only, you can get the watch for less than RM200 in pre-order.
Pricing and availability
The Mi Watch Lite has an official price of RM249 in Malaysia. It will be available in the official Xiaomi online store in Lazada, as well as in Mi Stores and authorized retailers from December 20.
Xiaomi also offers a single day pre-order promotion where you can pick up the Mi Watch Lite for just RM199. This offer is only available through the Xiaomi online store in Lazada at the December 17, 2020.
Hardware specs
The Mi Watch Lite includes a 1.4 ″ TFT LCD touch screen that offers a resolution of 320 × 320 pixels. Despite being a cheap wearable device, it still has a built-in heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, light sensor, electronic compass, barometer, and GPS. According to Xiaomi, it can monitor up to 11 sports modes that also include swim tracking.
In addition to 24-hour heart rate monitoring, Mi Watch Lite also has a sleep monitoring function that provides an analysis of the different stages of sleep. In terms of water resistance, it is listed with a 5ATM rating. On paper, this means that it can dive up to 50 meters deep.
In terms of design, it has a square case like the Mi Watch, but it only comes with a single physical button on the right. The watch comes in 5 colors: black, navy, pink, olive, and ivory, and the straps are replaceable.
The 230 mAh battery is rated to provide up to 9 days of battery life or up to 10 hours with continuous use of GPS. A full charge with the pogo pin charging base will take 2 hours. The watch connects via Bluetooth BLE 5.1 and requires the Xiaomi Wear app.
Because of the features it includes, this is a fairly affordable smartwatch priced below RM300. The Mi Watch Lite might be something worth considering if you are looking for something that is a bit better than the Mi Smart Band 5. For more information, you can check out the global product page.
If you’re looking for another option, Xiaomi is expected to launch the Mi Watch in Malaysia very soon, which comes with a 1.39 ″ circular AMOLED display. Unfortunately, there is no pricing information at this time and it is supposed to be available in December 2020.
