PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Health has reported 1,772 cases of Covid-19 and three deaths in the last 24 hours.
Chief Health Officer Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 1,084 recoveries, bringing the total number of discharged to 71,681.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the 1,772 cases bring the total number of infections in the country to 86,618.
Meanwhile, the three deaths bring the toll to 422.
Kuala Lumpur has the highest number of infections with 696 cases today, followed by Selangor (503) and Sabah (260).
Noor Hisham said 567 of the 696 cases in Kuala Lumpur were from the Damanlela construction works group.
Other states and federal territories that registered new cases today were Perak (110), Negeri Sembilan (67), Johor (48), Penang (34), Kedah (20), Labuan (11), Pahang (eight), Terengganu (seven ). ), Melaka (five) and Kelantan (three).
Today no new clusters were reported. There are currently 189 active groups in the country.
A total of 120 infections came from prison groups, namely the Tembok (99), Jalan Harapan (15) and Bakti (six) groups.
Noor Hisham said the three deaths involved two women and one man, all Malays from Sabah. They were between 45 and 88 years old and all had a history of chronic diseases.
There are currently 14,515 active cases with 118 patients in intensive care, of which 56 require respiratory assistance.
Perlis, Sarawak and Putrajaya did not register any new cases today.
Of the 1,772 current cases, 12 were imported cases.
