Cyberpunk 2077 1.04 Hotfix Released for PC and PS4

Cyberpunk 2077 is receiving its first hotfix patch less than 48 hours after an aggressive buggy release. CD Projekt Red says the update fixes a number of issues with search bugs, visual bugs, stability, and more.

Hotfix 1.04 is now available on PlayStation and PC consoles. CD Projekt says it is working to make the update available on Xbox consoles “as soon as possible.”

One of the most notable fixes concerns the controversial brain dance sequences, which featured flashing red and white lights that could lead to seizures in players with epilepsy. CDPR says update 1.04 modifies the lighting effect to reduce the risk of inducing epileptic symptoms, reducing the flare in frequency and magnitude.

CDPR has also removed copyrighted songs present in the game’s DMCA compliant “disable copyrighted music” feature, which presented the streamer community with the big problem of being demonetized or having their content removed after a DMCA strike.

Here is the full CDPR list of each fix in the 1.04 update.

  • Fixed an issue completing the final objective in Gig: Freedom of the Press.
  • Fixed an issue when starting a conversation with Johnny at the end of Life during Wartime.

Cyberpunk 2077 launched on Wednesday night here in North America, perhaps in a bit of heat as numerous players lamented the number of major bugs and graphical issues present throughout the game. Console gamers particularly got the shorter end of the stick, and entry-level PS4 and Xbox One users experienced significant graphical degradations compared to the PC version.
