Huawei’s latest flagship smartphone, the Mate 40 Pro, goes on sale on December 12 for RM4,299 and comes with additional extras.

The first 1,000 early risers will get a RM1,299 worth of Huawei Sound X smart speaker, which must be redeemed at the Huawei Member Center between December 18-20.

Each purchase will also come with digital gifts worth up to RM3,300.

Freebies include a three-month subscription to the Dimsum Entertainment streaming service, a 20% refund for recharges made through the AppGallery, and 50GB of cloud storage.

The phone, which comes in Mystic Silver color and has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, will be available in Huawei Experience stores and online stores.

The highlight is the phone’s Space Ring matrix, which houses three cameras: 50-megapixel main camera, 20-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 12-megapixel telephoto camera, which promise improved low-light performance.

Furthermore, the telephoto camera supports 10x hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom.

The front camera is a 13 megapixel shooter with a 3D depth sensor capable of enhancing photos with artistic blur.

The photos taken can be viewed on your considerable 6.76-inch screen that has a 90Hz refresh rate.

The Mate 40 Pro is powered by Huawei’s 5G-capable Kirin 9000 octa-core processor and features the EMUI 11 user interface.

In a press release, Huawei said that the processor’s artificial intelligence capabilities enable a number of functions, including gesture controls.

For example, users can move their hand up, down, left or right to flip through photos or pages of an e-book; make a grabbing motion to take a screenshot; and answer calls and control audio playback by placing your hand on the screen.

The company also promises all-day battery life thanks to the 4400 mAh battery, which charges faster with a 66-watt wired or 50-watt wireless charger.
