SINGAPORE (The Straits Times / ANN): A woman has been brought to court accused of mixing her blood and menstrual urine in food intended for the occupants of a Sengkang flat.

Canares Rowena Ola, who is from the Philippines, faces one charge of mischief, which carries a jail term of up to one year and a fine.

The 43-year-old was expected to plead guilty on Wednesday (December 2), but decided to contest the charge while in district court.

Assistant District Attorney Keith Jieren Thirumaran told District Judge Marvin Bay that Ola had previously admitted the crime in various statements to authorities.

Details about Ola’s occupation and how it is linked to the alleged victims are not established in the court documents.

The reasons why he allegedly committed the crime in December 2018 are also not mentioned.

The court heard that the contaminated food was consumed and no DNA testing was performed.

Ola is represented by defense attorney Kalaithasan Karuppaya, and his pre-trial conference will be held on January 25 of next year.

In an unrelated case, an Indonesian maid was sentenced to six months and seven weeks in jail in January for crimes such as contaminating drinking water and rice with her urine, saliva and menstrual blood.

Diana, 30, who only has one name, was hired by a family in Punggol in 2017 to work as a foreign maid.

While at her apartment in August of last year, she mixed her bodily fluids in her rice and drinking water.

Diana believed that by drinking the water they would agree to whatever she did and would not scold her for her performance.

His victims ended up consuming the contaminated items.

He also stole more than S $ 13,000 in total from his employer’s mother on five different occasions between August 2017 and June 2018.

Diana eventually pleaded guilty to two counts of mischief and one count of theft. – The Straits Times / Asia News Network
