PLACES OF WORSHIP

– Five mosques and surau in Muar, Johor

According to a report by Oriental Journal, the Muar Islamic Religious Affairs Office ordered the temporary closure of five surau and mosques in the district due to Covid-19.

The order was issued last night to allow disinfection activities after authorities discovered that a religious teacher who tested positive for the virus recently visited the facility.

The affected locations are Masjid Sarang Buaya, Masjid Parit Jawa, Masjid Parit Pecah, Surau Parit Pinang Seribu and Surau Sungai Gersik 2. They are expected to reopen today.

– Masjid Cahaya Iman Bandar Country Homes, Rawang, Selangor

A member of the mosque committee tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday (November 28).

According to another committee member, the man is believed to have contracted the virus from a relative. His wife also tested positive.

Following this, the mosque will remain closed for 14 days from November 28, and all committee members, as well as those identified as close contacts with the cases, were ordered to undergo virus screening.


RESIDENCES

– Taman Pinggiran Delima, Hulu Langat, Selangor

A family of five residing in an apartment in this residential area tested positive for Covid-19 on November 22, according to Oriental Journal.

Subsequently, the authorities have carried out disinfection activities in the flat area.


BUSINESS

– Resorts World Genting, Pahang

The company released a statement on November 25, saying that one of its employees from the security department tested positive for Covid-19 a day earlier.

The case was discovered during a routine review of employees and contract workers.

According to the company, the affected employee worked in the company’s warehouse and had no contact with guests.
