WASHINGTON: US Attorney General William Barr said Tuesday that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has seen no evidence of widespread voter fraud changing the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

“To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the elections,” Barr told The Associated Press in an interview, the Xinhua news agency reported.

The attorney general also said that the DOJ and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have been working to follow up on specific complaints and information they have received.

Attorneys for Acting President Donald Trump said in a statement that they believe Barr’s “opinion appears to have no knowledge or investigation of the substantial wrongdoing and evidence of systemic fraud.”

The US states are moving to certify former Vice President Joe Biden’s victory over Trump in the race for the White House, while the Republican had given his administration the green light to begin the transition to Democrat, but refused to give. – Called
