Here’s your Tottenham Hotspur morning recap for Tuesday, December 1.

Owen makes a daring Kane and Son claim

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have scored seven and nine Premier League goals respectively so far this season, but Michael Owen believes they may be frustrated by José Mourinho’s tactics at Tottenham.

The duo have bonded exceptionally well so far this season: Kane also has nine assists, most of which have been for Son, while only Liverpool and Chelsea have scored more overall.

But former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Owen believes they would prefer a more forward approach on occasions like Sunday’s clash with Chelsea, in which Tottenham registered just one shot on goal.

“There are top-tier players like Harry Kane e Son, in particular,” Owen said. Premier League TV. “Would I like to play as a center forward in that Tottenham game today? I’d be thinking that I prefer the way [Mauricio] Pochettino used to play.

“They trusted us, we go head-to-head with these teams, we could lose 3-2 or win 4-2. Whatever the score, but he trusted us.

“If I play for José Mourinho, I would be wondering if he trusts us to face these great teams because every time we play against someone decent, all we do is sit down.”

This is what he said in full.

Aurier’s change of course at Tottenham is testament to Mourinho’s training

It seemed Serge Aurier’s days at Tottenham were numbered amid frequent transfer rumors linking him to a move last summer.

But he has been an important player for Mourinho this season and has been dependable during the recent absence of summer signing Matt Doherty.

The Ivory Coast international has often been criticized for his lack of positional awareness and his tendency to make hasty decisions, but he put on disciplined defensive displays as Tottenham kept a clean sheet consecutively against Manchester City and Chelsea.

Early in the campaign, he showed what he can offer by advancing, scoring and assisting in his first Premier League start to the season in a 6-1 win over Manchester United.
