IPOH: A motion of confidence to support Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu (Photo) as the Perak Mentri Besar will be presented during the next session of the state assembly, says the Perak spokesman.
Datuk Mohamad Zahir Abdul Khalid said the motion was made by Pengkalan Baru Assemblyman Datuk Abdul Manaf Hashim.
“A movement of confidence is not something bizarre or strange and since the application met all the requirements, it will be a table during the session.
“The motion is to support the Chenderiang assemblymen as the current status of Mentri Besar,” he told reporters at the state secretariat building here on Monday (November 30).
He said the third assembly in Perak would take place from December 4-11.
“During the five days of the assembly, Faizal will present the 2021 state budget on (Friday) December 4.
“Discussions among assembly members on the budget will take place from December 8 to 9,” he said, adding that the session will be conducted in accordance with Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).
“Those participating in the session, including assembly members, heads of state departments and the media, must undergo a Covid-19 swab test.
“Face masks should be worn at all times during the session and hand sanitizers will be provided,” he said.
He added that for now, only the official media can cover the session in the building.
“We acknowledge the request of other members of the media to cover the session. However, we will first have to refer to the Ministry of Health and the National Security Council as we are still under the conditional MCO.
“The assembly will be broadcast live through our YouTube channel and portal. The live broadcast is accessible to everyone, including members of the public, ”he said.
