Police extend the preventive detention of a television personality arrested for alleged rape

PETALING JAYA: Police will extend the pre-trial detention of a television personality currently detained for an alleged rape after new police reports were filed against him.

“The suspect’s pre-trial detention was supposed to end on Tuesday (December 1), but due to multiple reports received on Monday (November 30), a pre-trial order will be requested tomorrow to aid investigations of new cases. .

“So far, six reports have been received, five of which were in Shah Alam and one in Petaling Jaya,” said the head of Selangor’s Information and Development Department, Comm Datuk Fadzil Ahmat. (Photo) in a statement Monday night.

He also urged victims not to be afraid and come forward to file complaints.

Investigations are under way for rape, sexual abuse and committing carnal relations against nature without consent.

Earlier on Monday, Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said a victim had filed a report against the suspect on November 29 where she claimed she had been sexually abused by the man in October.

This follows an earlier report presented in Shah Alam.

On November 27, Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Baharudin Mat Taib said that the suspect had been arrested for the alleged rape on September 11 last year.
