Covid-19: More than half of new cases in Sabah on Saturday (Nov 28) from new and existing groups, says Masidi

KOTA KINABALU: More than half of the 476 new Covid-19 cases recorded on Saturday (November 28) in Sabah come from four new groups and seven existing groups, says Datuk Masidi Manjun.

The state’s housing and local government minister said the 11 groups accounted for 258 new cases or 54.2% of all new cases.

“The four new groups today are the Jesselton group in Kota Kinabalu which involves 44 construction workers.

“Two new groups were identified in Sandakan, namely the PTS Sibuga group involving the Sibuga temporary detention center (99 cases) and the Dermaga group after the controls in the Sandakan port (17 cases).

“Another new group registered in the Kota Belud district called Tempasuk group with seven cases linked to a funeral ceremony,” he said on Saturday.

Four deaths were recorded on Saturday: two in Sandakan, one in Tawau and one in Tuaran.

As of Saturday, the accumulated cases in Sabah amount to 28,155 and 24,793 have been recovered, while 2,094 are still under treatment.
