KUALA LUMPUR: Dang Wangi Police issued a total of RM88,000 in compounds for MCO conditional violations after reviewing various entertainment spots here.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said that between November 21 and 27, they searched five entertainment venues around the Dang Wangi area.

“We checked 93 locals and 77 foreigners during our visits.

“Media entertainment licensing checks also revealed that they all had valid licenses issued by the Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL),” he said on Saturday (Nov 28).

He said they issued compounds to 88 locals for violations of Rule 11 of the 2020 Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Regulations.

“We also arrested 10 foreigners for not having proper documentation, while another 67 were detained on suspicion of having false travel documents,” he said.

ACP Zainal warned the public, foreigners and property owners to adhere to the conditional MCO.

He said failure to obey orders could lead to action under the 2020 Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Regulations and other available laws.
