MPOA Warns Kraft Heinz Against Using ‘No Palm Oil’ Claim

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA) has filed a formal complaint and demands that Kraft Heinz stop using the “No Palm Oil” claim that goes against the spirit of Rountable of Sustainable Palm’s shared responsibility commitment Oil (RSPO).

In this context, MPOA considers it improper and unethical for an RSPO member to have repeatedly chosen, either intentionally or unintentionally, to violate the RSPO code of conduct through its recent advertisement with the label “no palm oil” without even offering the option of using sustainable palm. “Kraft’s action and support suggests that the shared goals of all RSPO members, namely to promote sustainable palm oil production and use / absorption, are secondary and that they do not wish to join the common goals of promoting sustainably produced palm. Petroleum.

He said the RSPO has developed a set of environmental and social criteria that companies must meet to produce Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO).

“When applied correctly, these criteria can help minimize the negative impact of palm oil cultivation on the environment and communities in palm oil producing regions.”
