Malaysia among the 4 new boxes of Covid-19 imported into Singapore

SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Health has confirmed that one of the four imported cases of Covid-19 announced yesterday is a 24-year-old Malaysian man.

Labeled as case 58400, the work permit holder who returned from Malaysia has been put on notice to stay at home.

The ministry said the man and the other three imported cases were asymptomatic and were detected based on their detection and proactive surveillance.

As of noon yesterday, Singapore reported five new cases, with one case transmitted locally, bringing the total number to 58,195.

It has classified 1,421 of the reported cases as imported, 2,272 as community cases, and 54,502 involving dorm residents.

Almost 99% or 58,104 cases had fully recovered, while 43 confirmed cases remained hospitalized, one in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

Twenty patients who have mild symptoms or are clinically well, but still tested positive for Covid-19, have been isolated and are being cared for in community facilities.

The number of deaths remains at 28.
