The government never appointed outside agents for the illegal immigrant recalibration program

PUTRAJAYA: The Government has never designated a third party or any vendor to administer the Return Recalibration Program and the Labor Recalibration Program under the Illegal Immigrants Recalibration Program that began on November 16.

The Human Resources Ministry (KSM) in a statement said today since its launch, it has received 113 applications from employers involving 17,292 quotas to employ foreign workers.

“Monitoring work is being done from time to time to ensure that the implementation of the Illegal Immigrant Recalibration Program is not manipulated by any irresponsible party.

“KSM takes this matter seriously and will conduct a thorough investigation to prevent tampering with the employers or illegal immigrants involved,” the ministry said.

He said legal action would be taken against irresponsible parties under Section 7 of the Private Employment Agencies Act of 1981 (Act 246) which establishes a maximum fine of RM200,000 or imprisonment not to exceed three years or both.

The Illegal Immigrant Recalibration Program was implemented by KSM through the Department of Labor of Peninsular Malaysia in collaboration with the Department of Immigration of Malaysia. -Called
