KLANG: Top Glove Corporation Bhd will continue to take the necessary measures to curb the Covid-19 infection among its workers.
In a statement issued, Top Glove said it was working closely with authorities to combat the pandemic.
“Top Glove wishes to assure our customers that we are working closely with authorities during this period to ensure the continued safety and well-being of our employees and the local community, which remains our highest priority,” the statement read.
He added that the company would continue to adhere to the Covid-19 preventive SOP in a strict manner.
“Disinfection exercises are also carried out periodically in our facilities and accommodation,
all necessary precautionary measures strictly established, ”the statement read.
Top Glove is in the spotlight after the Covid-19 infection spread in the shelters and accommodation of Meru workers through the Teratai group.
So far, about 2,524 people out of the 5,767 tested in the group have tested positive for the coronavirus.
The statement reiterated that the company was working closely with the relevant authorities in the management of its affected manufacturing facilities in Meru.
Top Glove said it was also working closely with authorities to conduct a workforce review at its factories in Meru.
“We have temporarily halted production at 16 of our Meru facilities from November 17 to date, with the remaining 12 facilities operating at greatly reduced capacities,” the statement added.
The firm also assured its stakeholders that it was fully committed to doing its part to help prevent the further spread of Covid-19 while supporting the needs of its customers, employees, business partners, and the communities it serves.
