Ras Adiba, who was present during the press conference, also thanked Yang di-Pertuan Agong for agreeing to his appointment as president of the Bernama.

“I’ll do my best. As you know, I grew up in front of most of you and I feel like this is the time to give back all the experiences I had after 34 years in the industry.

“I am not just a news reader, but have been a television director and producer in various places. I will cooperate with everyone and God willing, come up with some vibrant ideas and work with the existing team to produce top notch news and stories, ”he said.

Ras Adiba also expressed optimism in assuming her new role as Bernama president, and said more compelling human interest stories would be in the works.

“We have to make it fresher and more modern. I can’t wait to meet the team. I know some people are skeptical, but it’s okay with me because I’m from the media industry.

“You can challenge me as much as you can. Because this is what I do best, ”he said.
