KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional leaders said tonight that the party must put the interests of members before those of other parties to remain relevant in the changing political landscape.

The leader of the Umno, Hishammuddin Hussein, said that the needs and demands of the rank and file must come before the relationship with other parties.

However, Hishammuddin believed that the party would remain relevant despite uncertainties in the political landscape.

“The family spirit and the comfort among the members are signs that the party will continue to be relevant.

He said that despite having differences of opinion, BN members would put aside their differences and focus on the interests of the party, which is the welfare of the rakyat.

MIC Vice President M Saravanan said the meeting discussed the direction of the coalition in the near future.

“BN has agreed to take affirmative action to ensure that the part remains relevant. This includes listening to the aspirations of the grassroots. We will make decisions based on their aspirations, ”he said.
