Solskjaer eased the pressure on him a bit with a win at Everton

The 3-1 win at Goodison Park was vital and the pressure on the Norwegian manager increased after a poorly-performing selection.

A double from Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani’s first goal since his signing did the business.

United have yet to win in four league games at home this season, but a win over West Brom would see them rise from 14th to seventh and ease the pressure on Solskjaer.

Manchester United team news

The Red Devils haven’t had much luck on the injury front in the past two weeks with Marcus Rashford suffering from a shoulder problem that forced him to withdraw from England.

Rashford returned to training on Friday, but Solskjaer can’t take a chance, with Juan Mata set to play if he’s not deemed fit enough to start.

Edinson Cavani is expected to make his first Premier League start, while Anthony Martial has recovered from a minor back problem and should play.

Mason Greenwood is likely to be missing again after suffering from illness.

Left-back Luke Shaw is also out for a month due to the hamstring injury he suffered against Everton before the international break.

That means Alex Telles is set to make his first league start for the club after having beaten Covid-19.

Victor Lindelof has an ongoing back problem but will start if he passes a fitness test on Saturday.

Pogba has been restricted to a backup role in recent weeks, and may have to settle for a spot on the bench again.

Pogba has been restricted to a backup role in recent weeks, and may have to settle for a spot on the bench again.

Paul Pogba is likely to miss out on United’s opportunity despite impressing France in the international break.

Solskjaer has favored Fred, Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes as his trio of midfielders in recent weeks and it would be a surprise if he changes that.
