851 new cases, Johor is now a hotspot

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 851 new cases of Covid-19 today as of noon today amid 102 emerging infections in Johor.

This is believed to be the first time that Johor has reported new triple-digit cases.

Sixty-four of the cases in Johor were related to existing conglomerates, while 23 were from a new conglomerate.

The Klang Valley reported the highest number of infections (39.2 percent) followed by Sabah (26.9 percent) and Johor (12 percent).

Main indicators:

  • Active cases: 10,686 ↑ (191 more than the previous day)
  • ICU patients: 122 ↑ (2 more than the previous day, new record)
  • Intubated patients: 47 ↑ (3 more than the previous day)
  • Deaths: 2

The two deaths were reported in Sabah, bringing the state’s cumulative death toll to 214 or 58.6 percent of the national total (365).

The details of the two victims, both with comorbidity, are as follows:

Patient 65,961 – 84-year-old Malaysian male, killed upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Patient 65,962 – 63-year-old foreign male, died upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
