COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 847 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today with an increase in new cases in Negeri Sembilan and Labuan.
Both Negeri Sembilan (38 new cases) and Labuan (29 new cases) were in single digits respectively yesterday.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Malaysia has reached 204 with five more deaths reported and active cases surpassing the 8,000 mark for the first time.
Leading indicators in brief:
- Active cases = 8,183 ↑ (17th consecutive day a new record)
- Patients in intensive care = 90 ↓ (12 less than the previous day)
- Intubated patients = 29 ↓ (2 less than the previous day)
- Deaths = 5
Of the latest victims, four were from Sabah and one from Kedah.
Of the three sequential case numbers assigned to three Sabah victims, they were diagnosed with Covid-19 positive very recently, suggesting that they died before or very shortly after being diagnosed.
The details are as follows:
- ‘Patient 15,063’, Malay woman, 67 years old, Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, Kedah.
- ‘Patient 11,865’, Malaysian woman, 65, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu. No history of previous illnesses.
- ‘Patient 23,533’, Malaysian male, 88 years old, Duchess of Kent Hospital, Sandakan. No history of previous illnesses.
- ‘Patient 23,534’, Malay male, 78 years old, Tuaran Hospital.
- – ‘Patient 23,535’, foreign woman, 60 years old, Duchess of Kent Hospital, Sandakan. No history of previous illnesses.
The total number of deaths attributed to Covid-19 for Sabah in this month alone was 63, or 30.9 percent of total Covid-19 deaths in the country.
Of the 847 new cases, 842 were local transmissions reported mainly in Sabah (578), followed by the Klang Valley (164).
