84 arrested for violating RMCO

PETALING JAYA: A total of 84 people have been arrested for violating the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).

Of that number, 55 compounds were issued, 27 were detained and two were released on bail.

“Violations include pub / nightclub activities (45), failure to prepare the necessary tools and equipment for entry and exit (17), failure to wear face masks (10), venues operating beyond designated time (two) , premises that operate without a license (one), activities that involved crowds that hindered social distancing (seven) and two arrests of illegal immigrants, ”said Chief Minister (Defense) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pix) in your press release today.

He added that from July 24 to August 29, up to 20,190 people have returned from abroad and have been placed in 74 hotels and four public learning institutes in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Johor, Sarawak, Kelantan, Perak Kedah , Perlis, Terengganu, Sabah and Labuan.

“Of that number, 8,854 people are under mandatory quarantine, while 56 people are in hospital for treatment. Up to 11,280 people have been discharged and allowed to return home, ”he said.

In addition, he said that they returned from 32 countries, namely the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei, Qatar, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, India, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Turkey, South Korea, Iran. , Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Timor Leste, Taiwan, China, United Kingdom, Holland, Papua New Guinea, Egypt, Spain, France, Australia, New Zealand and the United States of America.

“The police have carried out 418 checks on those who are in mandatory quarantine in their respective homes and it was found that all are complying with standard operating procedures (SOPs),” he said.

Ismail Sabri also said that the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) had conducted checks on a construction site in Sabah and found it to be in compliance with SOPs.
