PETALING JAYA: A total of 79 people have been arrested for violating the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), and of that number, 51 received compounds while 28 were detained.
“Infractions are pub / nightclub activities (11), not preparing the necessary tools and equipment for entry and exit (18), not wearing face masks (17), venues operating beyond the designated time (one) , private party (22) and activities involving crowds that made social distancing difficult (10), ”said Chief Minister (Defense) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in his press release today.
He added that from July 24 to August 28, up to 19,218 people have returned from abroad and have been placed in 70 hotels and five public learning institutes in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Johor, Sarawak, Kelantan, Perak Kedah , Perlis, Terengganu, Sabah and Labuan.
“Of that number, 8,464 people are under mandatory quarantine, while 56 have been admitted to hospital for treatment. Up to 10,698 people have been discharged and allowed to return home, ”he said.
In addition, he said that they have returned from 32 countries, namely the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei, Qatar, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, India, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Turkey, South Korea. , Iran, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Timor Leste, Taiwan, China, United Kingdom, Holland, Papua New Guinea, Egypt, Spain, France, Australia, New Zealand and the United States of America.
“The police have carried out 459 checks on those who are in mandatory quarantine in their respective homes and it was found that all are complying with standard operating procedures (SOPs),” he said.
Ismail Sabri also said that the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) conducted controls at eight construction sites in Malaysia involving 29 law enforcement officers.
“The result of the controls is that seven construction sites are complying with SOPs, while one did not and received a warning,” he said.
