PUTRAJAYA: 68% of Malaysians want to receive the Covid-19 vaccine according to the statistics of the National Agency for Disaster Management (Nadma), said the Minister of the Department of the Prime Minister (Special Functions) Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof.

According to Nadma’s statistics, only 16 percent of people in the country are still unsure whether to receive the Covid-19 vaccine or not, he said.

“Our goal is to vaccinate 80 percent of people. As such, the information disseminated about the vaccination program must be accurate so as not to create suspicion among people, as well as seeking the cooperation of all parties to ensure the success of the program.

“Correct information must be disseminated to give Malaysians confidence to get the vaccine,” he told reporters after chairing Meeting No. 1 of the Special National Committee on Disaster Management here today.

He said that people should not worry about the Covid-19 vaccine used in the National Covid-19 Immunization Program, as they have been approved by the National Drug Regulatory Agency (NPRA).

“Each individual must cooperate with the government and receive the vaccine … you do not have to choose which vaccine and should receive it when the vaccine becomes available,” he said.

Mohd Redzuan said that the Covid-19 Eradication Agency (ABC-19) made up of volunteers would be established to encourage and help the community to register for the Covid-19 vaccine.

Other than that, the District Disaster Management Committees (JPBD) have been told to activate the Disaster Operations Control Center (PKOB) which would act as a war room to launch the ABC-19 mobilization.

“ABC-19 will manage the immunization registry and the volunteers will be at the district and state level,” he said. – Named
